The Soneil 1205SR Charger is a 12V 3Amp Charger.
We have experimented with a number of 12V chargers for equalizing 12V AGM batteries installed in a long series string. Despite its slightly higher price, we selected this heavy duty OEM duty 1205SR as a preferred product after having reliability problems with the economy 1206 model from the same manufacturer. After about a year of reliable service in the electric 914 we decided that we could comfortably offer these to our customers.
Individual chargers on each battery have a couple advantages over the common dissipative regulators for AGM battery balancing. They charge each 12V battery through an optimized profile that includes a short equalization adjusted for each battery followed by a float stage as opposed to the regulators which only offer the float balancing. Additionally, since the non-isolated chargers on the market have a history of unreliable service, individual chargers on each battery are a slow but isolated charge solution when the big charger is in for repair or when dirty batteries otherwise keep you from charging safely.
This charger has a universal input. This is especially handy since it can be plugged into anything from 100-240 VAC. Please check our download section for a copy of the data sheet for this charger.
